This is from a series – basketpods - I’ve been doing on & off for 10 years or so. It consists of sculptural forms made of reed & other fibers, imitating & abstracting seed pods & other organic things. The forms are often plastered over with mud, papers, or found materials. 

The little donut sculpture is striking from a distance. Upon closer inspection, it reveals a worn surface & the carefully woven, exposed structure that give it the feeling of an ancient, or long-buried artifact.
