This little piece is one of my favorites – I find the form so satisfying.

It is woven of thin reed, and plastered with a mixture of carbon and pigmented ‘mud”. The shape is a slightly squished sphere, hollow, with holes and “flanges” on either side. The texture is velvety and the surface is a dull, but deep, blue/carbon. It has a hanger on one side and can be hung on a wall, as well as sitting on a shelf.
