This group of 5 suspended sculptures is installed in the Student Services Building at the University of New Mexico/Los Alamos campus. All of the pieces are constructed of reed, stained with acrylic. The colors and forms are intended to suggest those found in the high desert landscape, The tone of the installation evokes the transitory and often harsh nature of the desert environment; bleaching sunlight and relentless winds prevail. Cycles of life and the inevitability of decay are a fact of life here. but have their own beauty and resonance.
